Our centre provides social opportunities, activities and advice which otherwise could not be reached. Our project helps to give young people better chances in life by providing a safe environment to take part in activities, improve social skills, self confidence and access to advice.
Monday: 7pm - 9.30pm
Thursday: 7pm - 9.30pm
Wednesday: 6pm - 9.30pm
Saturday and Sunday: Closed
We are open three evenings a week for young people aged 11-19. Across the three evenings we have split sessions for 11-13 year olds and 13 and over. We are open for young people to drop in to spend time with friends, meet new people, listen to music, use the MC decks, game with friends and play pool. There are also options of structured activities that are led by request from the young people such as arts and crafts, first aid sessions, visits from local services and trips away.
We also provide an issue-based advice service on one evening a week which encompasses alcohol and drugs abuse, sexual health, mental health issues, social media safety and any other topics that the young people wish to discuss either individually or in a group session.
Whilst we like to have in-house events such as parties and movie nights, we also like to go further afield for fun trips such as an escape room challenge in Berwick or a day trip to InflateSpace.
At The Drop In we provide interactive and fun educational opportunities for our members. Visits to the local fire station to learn about road safety and a visit from a local paramedic to explain the basics of first aid are just some examples of the practical learning experiences we provide.
