Friends of Wooler Drop-In
(Wooler Young People’s Association)
We offer a warm welcome to potential volunteer helpers and new Committee members. If you enjoy working with young people and would like to become involved we would love to hear from you.
The Drop In provides a focal point for the young people (aged 13 - 25) of Glendale where, on 3 evenings a week we provide a meeting place, arrange organised activities and can offer advice and counselling if needed.
We believe that we need a balanced community where old and young are supported and can thrive. We have a hard working staff and volunteer committee who manage to raise funds for our charity but we also look to our local community for their support as funders often ask about this.
We know the support is there and it has been suggested that one of the ways we can report it is to create a “Friend’s of Wooler Drop-In”. You can become a friend by donating a small annual amount to aid our work, if you can help please download and fill in the 'Becoming a Friend - Regular donation Form' and drop it in to us.
On behalf of the staff and Drop In users – THANK YOU!
Becoming a Volunteer
Have you ever thought about becoming a volunteer helper at the Drop In?
The 3 sessions we run per week are very well attended and we can always do with some extra help.
Of course we know that people today have numerous demands on them and find it hard to commit but we would welcome occasional help at any of our sessions. For example if you could help at a few sessions a month we would love to hear from you. If you know someone who would like to get into Youth Work let them know about us.
We can offer:
- A good laugh.
- An awful lot in the way of thanks.
- The chance to positively influence peoples’ lives.
- Some new skills.
- A fair amount of tea and coffee.
- Occasional training.
You can find out more by contacting Joyce Robinson (youth worker in charge at the Drop In) on 01668 283638 or filling in our enquiry form.
