Awards Evening

Tuesday, 26 April 2016

The High Sheriff of Northumberland was joined by hairy biker Si King to hand out grants totalling £58,000 to community groups. A few of the young people from our centre went along on the evening to collect a High Sheriffs award of £800.  We also received an additional award which was distributed in partnership with the Police and Crime Commissioner, Vera Baird. Ms Baird and the High Sheriff struck up a super partnership award with a  joint pot of £8000, which was set up to to recognise inspirational groups across the region.  They decided that  Wooler Young Peoples Association was one of them!   We had a great evening  and the young people who went were extremely grateful for the awards and loved meeting Si King.
